UMO Design Bytes #31

Hello UX Community,
As we wrap up another exciting month at UXINDIA, I wanted to personally take a moment to reflect on everything we’ve achieved together, and share a glimpse of what’s ahead for our growing community.
This month has been a reminder of what makes this movement so special: the collaboration, the curiosity, and the shared vision to advance design in India and beyond. Every conversation, event, and initiative is a reflection of the collective energy that each one of you brings.
In Case You Missed It

If you couldn’t catch all the sessions during the conference, the highlights are now available online.
You can now revisit the Keynotes and Panels on YouTube, sessions that sparked some of the most engaging discussions at UXINDIA 2025 at https://www.youtube.com/@uxindia/videos.
And if you’d like to relive the moments from the conference, all the event photos are now live on Flickr. Take a look, find yourself in the crowd, and share your favorite moments with your peers and community at https://www.flickr.com/photos/uxindia/albums/.
Founder Feature — The Global Indian Spotlight
This month, I had the honor of being featured in The Global Indian in an article titled “Good Design for Better Living.”
The story traces the 25-year journey of UMO Design Foundation — from a community movement that began with “Boycott Bad Designs” to a global platform for design leadership and social innovation.
It also highlights our shared vision for Vision 2030 — empowering 100 design-led startups, mentoring one million women in AI and design literacy, and expanding design education to every corner of India.

PowerUp with Pradeep – Podcast Feature

I was recently invited to join the podcast PowerUp with Pradeep to discuss a question that’s been on everyone’s mind: “Will AI Replace Designers?”
It was a deeply insightful conversation about how design is evolving in the age of AI, and how we, as designers, can lead this change with empathy, creativity, and purpose.
UMO Design Grads – Building the Next Generation of Designer Entrepreneurs

Our UMO Design Grads program continues to shape future design leaders through a hands-on, six-month journey that bridges design, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
In the first half of the program, learners build a strong foundation in Design Thinking, User Research, UI/UX, and Visual Design — mastering essential tools like Figma, Adobe Suite, Notion, and AI workflows through real-world projects.
The later phase focuses on innovation and entrepreneurship, where participants learn how design drives business impact. Through live mentorship, studio simulations, and a guided capstone project, they develop and present real-world solutions to mentors, investors, and industry leaders.
This experience equips every graduate with the mindset, skills, and confidence to step into the professional world of design with purpose.

Looking Ahead
As we move forward, we’re preparing for new community events, initiatives, contests, and the early planning for UXINDIA 2026. It’s shaping up to be another transformative year — and I’m grateful to have you on this journey with us.
Thank you for being an essential part of the UXINDIA family. Your continued support, passion, and belief in our vision are what keep this movement alive and thriving.
With gratitude,
Kaladhar Bapu
